RUDY is a band of four students who rely on making music to feel good. Meeting at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, these individualists soon learned that the common thread of music and rock and roll had them tied together. After many late nights and an assembly of jam sessions in an odd collection of dorm rooms and houses, they created an eclectic blend of rock and indie honesty. Drawing influences from Spoon, Pavement, and the Pixies, they manage to keep their own unique sound and perspective alive.
As a collection of artistic performers, RUDY’s members each add their own spice to the mix. Leah Korbin is a songwriter and graphic designer. Jordan Korn also writes music and hails from the live music capital, Austin, Texas. Phil Haas is a commercial drum major perfecting his performance and delivers pizza on the side. Joshua Stuebe is from the desert in Phoenix, Arizona and is an audiophile, jumping at the chance to record any sound he finds pleasing. Their collective interests include khakis, 1993, and anything made with cornmeal.
Despite having never played a public show, RUDY looks to be a promising group. Their quirky personalities shine through in their music with catchy vocal melodies, sweet guitar tones, and a driving beat. RUDY hopes that their music can help people’s days “suck” just a little less. They’re honest. They’re simple. They know what they like. Check them out on their current self-titled project Rudy.
