Indie Band Hub
We are curriculum based group of students based out of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment
and Music Business. Yes, we are mainly run by college students, but you know how that is, we can do what we need to. We are looking for committed working bands in the Nashville area that can use some promotion, free web placement/downloads, and are interested in building the scene in the southeast.
We can market your music by directing web traffic and marketing to this site. Basically, we will aggressively market and direct traffic to this site for your exposure. This makes us a visible retail/distributor that focuses on a small community rather than a large national outlet such as MySpace. (Have you ever tried to find a good local band on Myspace?)
The best part is that if you would like to be a part of this community, we only ask for your participation. There is no commission. This is a "non-exclusive deal," which means you may still sell on iTunes accounts or other web sites--we do not collect any % from any sales. This means we supplement other existing sites you already have set up (myspace-itunes, etc.).
What else can we do? For selected artists, and if you ask us, we can offer additional freebies such as photos, video clips, and posters. These are available if wanted and needed—FREE-- you just need to let us know, but these are available on a limited basis and priority (availability, location, and timing of semester, etc.).
Only select bands will be approved as members. If you are interested in joining us, please submit our distribution agreement, then once approved, email several MP3's (ONE per email), along with your material (web site references i.e. myspace, etc.). You may cancel this agreement at any time for any reason.
Once you have signed on, we will need a short bio, small initial photos, and your music you wish to upload. As an incentive—artists that achieve a good amount of web sales, or views, may be approached to record a project, or additional music, or be included on our compilation-- at no charge to you as well—but this is "down the road."
Our vision is to create an opportunity for bands to communicate, share, and assist each other into each other’s markets as we grow. We are anxious to expose local bands in order to encourage a local music scene. We are in the growing phase. If you know other bands that fit into this mix please forward our address. A community is only as strong as it's members. We are focusing on the Southeast to start and will add other cities/regions as we move forward.
If you are a band member/artist and have exisiting recordings,CLICK HERE to be directed to our agreement page. Thanks!
PS: We are actively supported and funded by Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Music Business and Entertainment—a nonprofit educational organization and are a part of the Record Company Operations curriculum.
