John Shaw was born in 1987 in Northwest Alabama. His music is rooted in the soul that poured from his hometown of Muscle Shoals in the late 60's, along with blues and jazz influences picked up since he began playing at age 14. He began gigging at age 16 and has worked with several bands and as a sideman with many solo artists.

The John Shaw group was formed in Nashville in August 2007. John combines a direct performance style the reaches across the stage. A dynamic presence on stage combines with an amazing technical ability to perform intricate guitar riffs with ease. However, this performance ease is expressed by his ability to write songs that capture life's experiences. John captures every audience with the edge that only an aggressive combination of rehearsal, recording, and live performance and touring, John plays throughout the southeast and Midwest.
