Invicta formed in the beginning of 2008 when guitarist/songwriter D-J and singer Schii combined their talents and influences to create a sound distinctive from the stagnating confines of the metal genre. Melodies and harmonies reminiscent of Alice in Chains and Alter Bridge fuse with guitar riffs in the styles of Mudvayne and Between the Buried and Me. Breakdowns in the vein of August Burns Red and It Dies Today mesh with softer passages similar to Incubus and Switchfoot. The final effect is brutal for the heavy fans, melodic for critics of metal, intelligent for the sophisticates, and uplifting for those seeking a message. The hand of God has always been at work in Invicta. Days after D-J and Schii completed their first set of songs, MIKE-T, B_LOW, and Morgan Freeman joined the band, bringing their talents at the guitar, drums and bass, respectively.
